1971 Yamaha RT1 360 Enduro Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Manufacturer: Yamaha Model: RT1 360 Year: 1971 Engine No: RT1-19110 Frame No: RT1-19110 Colour: Orange Mileage: 7900 Capacity: 351cc Starting at: £799.99 Stock No: 88584 This very rare and much sought after Tax & MOT exempt 1971 Yamaha RT1 360 Enduro has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!. And this is a great start…..Almost complete!!! PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you can see this bike has only a few parts missing – optional indicators & r/h mirror being the most obvious. It has stood forever so the battery is flat, paintwork is faded, tyres & seat cover are perished, tank is rotten & mucky inside. Sadly the kick starter doesn’t engage with anything & we can’t seem to select any gears so we can’t tell if the motor turns over. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.........The wheels are straight with reasonable hubs & brake plates. Forks & yokes look straight but pitted. Mudguards are both solid. Tail light assy is rusty but solid as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments & switches look very faded. Carburettor is only just free sliding off the twist grip. Exhaust is original & solid. Seat base is in restorable condition. The engine is cosmetically quite clean but needs some surgery. We HAVE NOT got the Certificate of Title but we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.(This can take upto 4 weeks) Registration. You need to get the bike MOTed. (Vehicles over 40 years old are MOT exempt) You need proof of year of manufacture in writing. Phone Yamaha UK customer services on 01932 358000 with the Model, frame & engine Numbers for a small fee they will send you a letter confirming the age. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number. Spares you may need Our used spares dept may carry items you need for this project, give them a call on 01782 862200, if parts are available they will be happy to list them on EBay so you can purchase.
