Here we have an example of the grand daddy of the superbikes ,the pictures as always make things look better than they are but still a nice old bike ,too good to break surely ? well whatever .So , problem ,it's a very temperamental starter ,it's a carburation issue leave her standing for a week and the plugs soot up when starting ,(not oil) ,clean up the plugs and it's an instant fire up ,it needs someone with more carb knowledge than me to sort it , plus the usual visual defects expected from a 30 year old bike ,cracked and repaired screen ,the upper to lower fairing joint is always a weak point and has had some patching up ,not a horror show but nor is it pristine Christine the car park queen.The paintwork is i'm led to believe a first year only job ,called "luminous rose opera" (cor) go figure , rare unusual ,much sought after ,there is only one "set" of keys ,one for each function ign. tank and seat so as Henry Cole likes to say "it's beautiful from afar but far from beautiful". So ,Good Stuff ,The cylinder head has had a full resto. with new valves ,guides ,seals and dressed ports ,done by previous owner who abandoned the project after fitting it .Lots of work done ,new fork seals and oil ,swing arm stripped & greased with a new needle bearing ,brakes serviced all free on discs ,a stainless 4 to 1 exhaust with an alloy Remus slip on end can ,new battery good tyres front 5mm rear 6mm of tread ,braided hoses on both ends ,fuel tap repair kit fitted ,oil and filters changed ,it's all there and it all works as it should. So when this bike goes it lives up to it's rep. as a bit of a beast with aloud voice and loads of grunt ,gears all work properly engine runs nice and it builds up speed like you would not believe for such an old bike ,the induction roar from the flat slide carbs in the ram air box is addictive. Sadly I am not able to get to the bottom of the fuel issue and i need a bike that i can leave unridden and then rely on to start and this ain't it so it's gotta go. I have tried to be as honest as i can ,you are welcome to come take a look i am in Daventry NN11 4EH. please feel free to ask questions i will answer if i can ,there is no service history and i have no previous knowledge of this bike ,the V5 is present and in my name. Payment on collection in person preferably by bank transfer but if cash no old notes ,i offer no warranty it is sold as seen ,i would recommend removal by trailer or van ,if it will fire up you could ride it away as it runs perfectly as soon as it warms through.it is sold as seen ,so it is what it is and it ain't what it ain't ,bear it in mind when bidding . Please note there will be no offers or deals made i don't have a buy it now figure ,the auction will run to the end and the best man wins that's fair all round if you win it's yours no exceptions .good luck and thanks for the interest .On 14-Jun-20 at 15:04:42 BST, seller added the following information: Today i gave the air intake a squirt of easy start and she fired up straight away but quit again as soon as the whiff of easy start ran out ,definitely fuel starvation i thinkOn 16-Jun-20 at 15:22:43 BST, seller added the following information: OKI so all good now the fuel issue is resolved it was a problem with the fuel tap ,now resolved it now fires up every time and is running well so its really just about it's looks if a few rough bits on the plastic etc. doesn't bother you too much then it is a good every day bike ,you could save the Pride and joy for weekends ,best of luck
