Description

Sachs Madass 155cc - Recent renovation project now complete I bought this bike 3 months ago as a project bike to give me something to do in the garage. I've renovated quite a few bikes and now seem to get more pleasure fixing up tired/uncared for bikes and getting them looking good and working well than I do riding. This one's now done that so I'm selling it for the cash to buy my next projectThere were no major issues with the mechanics of this bike when purchased as it ran fine but it looked a bit tatty and a few things broken all of which are now resolvedThe last MOT was September 2019 and I haven't got round to MOT as my local place I normally take bikes is holding off on MOTs for now it but given it passed last year and its now very clean and tidy with many improvements, passing its MOT should be a breezeThe bike is fitted with a Stomp 155cc engine (4 gears, N-1-2-3-4 arrangement) although the log book which is in my name/address still states 50cc so you can choose to update with DVLA or not....your choice ;-)Tyre treads, chain/sprocket, oil & filters etc all good and oil/filter replaced Brief Summary of Work Undertaken and new parts during last 3 months Bike completely stripped down to bare frameMost components resprayed with Tough Satin Black after a few coats of etch primmer (a few small marks/spots on the frame touched up...the touch up pen will be included)Loom cleaned up, redid a lot of connectors (mostly for new switchgear) and proper joins with solder/heatshrink were appropriateI should have had the fork lowers powder coated but it wasn't practical due to lockdown at the time so these aren't cleaned up but its not such a big job to remove the forks and have them and perhaps the wheels done if you want it 100% mint...I recommend Metallic gunmetal for the forks...had that before on another bike I did and its a great colour. Replaced Parts: New Clocks/Speedo (the basic Madass Speedo is rubbish) - replaced with much nicer looking Speedo/Rev Counter (note fuel gauge on speedo not active). The speedo has built in gear indication and for this you'd need a replacement gear position indicator (available from ooracing.com for about £7) then run 4 or 5 wires up to the clocks from the engine housing behind the. Its a straight swap for the standard item + the wiresFuel Tap - replaced with a better tap with Main & Reserve selection (fuel filter built in)New Air FilterNew Left and Right Hand Side Switchgear - had a nightmare sorting the electrics as that's a weak point of mine but got them working correctly in the endNew Kick start rubber + other sundries like bulbsNew Brake/Clutch Levers - suitably modern looking levers with master cylinder to replace crap standard itemsNew LED indicators + LED relay which makes them flash correctly (tail light/brake light is already LED)New front mudguardNew MirrorsMost nuts/bolts/washers replaced with Stainless steel items except for mission critical ones like brake caliper bolts etc The Madass will come with: CTEK charger (plug on bike already) although I doubt you'd need it much except over long winter months as it charges while running just fineLog Book (in my name/address)2 Keys - each key operates ignition, steering lock and fuel lock A few receipts and last MOTA few notes and more information No test rides unless the money is in my handCash on collection (don't make me pay paypal 2.4% fee) although I'd like a £50 deposit within a few hours of auction end as a discouragement from time wasters Below are two links with a rebuild thread on a forum I use and a Youtube video including it running as it sounds better than most small cc bikes with the underseat exhaust...not too loud but quite raspy My Rebuild Thread on a Motorcycle forum: http://honda-forums.com/forum/index.php?t=msg&th=29646Youtube Video taken at the same time (15th June) as the listings pictures: https://youtu.be/NHCPqW4q6HE
