1998 Yamaha VMAX Unregistered JAP Import Trade Bike Manufacturer: Yamaha Model: VMAX Year: 1998 Engine No: 2LT-015153 Frame No: JYA2LTN05WA15313 Colour: Black and Blue Mileage: 4036 Capacity: 1198cc Starting at: £999.99 Stock No: 88094 This Full power US Spec 1998 Yamaha VMAX has recently been imported from Japan. We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. The single most important purchase for a restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........ As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – R/H mirror and rear brake hose being the most obvious. It has obviously stood a while so the battery is flat, paintwork is faded & peeling, the rear mudguard is not standard and both have damage, tyres are perished & pillion seat cover is torn. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS......... The wheels are straight with nice clean alloy, good discs, calipers and working front brake, the bike also features rear sets but is missing the brake hose. The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome. The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl. Instruments and switches look ok and move as they should. The paintwork appears to have been sprayed over original carbon and has scratches throughout. The indicators are tidy. The standard exhausts are solid with nice chrome. The engine is cosmetically clean. We have had it firing/running & revving on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention. We have got the Certificate of Title for this bike and we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.(This can take upto 4 weeks) You need to get the bike MOTed. (Vehicles over 40 years old are MOT exempt) You need proof of the year of manufacture in writing. The Certificate of Title is an acceptable document. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. (For vehicles over 40 years old this is free) The DVLA will send you your age related registration number. Spares you may need Our Used Spares dept may carry items you need for this project, if parts are available they will be listed on eBay.
