2002 r1 5pwI have owned this bike for 9 years.Has been serviced by myself in this time.When I first owned this bike I had a charging problem.I had my local yam dealer look at this & requested full service.Then I did some work on it a couple of months/1k later.On inspection I found they did fxxk all.Valve cover looked untouched so I checked.Found valves were on limit and all shims were same size,original from factory assembly,original green factory coolant(mechanic had admitted dealers is blue),exup(that I requested inspect & adjust) cover bolts seized- so not done and stator coil rewind and new rectifier cost £1000 & 3 visits. Using own detective work & local company to rewind CORRECTLY = £30 & no problem since.Anyway sorry to rant. Point is don't trust a yam dealer or dealer serviced.Met others with same story.Have done all work myself since.Valves last done 11k ago,24k intervals.Exup is working.Last time stripped a month before I parked up in December.I would do every two months regardless of mileage as starts to seize if not.Stainless bolts as oem bolts seize.New rear brembo disc 10k ago.5k ago- new caliper seals f&r, new stainless pistons in front, new pad pins & new ebc hh pads f&r(plenty of meat left on them).Titanium disc bolts f&r.R&G frame and swingarm crash protectors and nylon bar end weights.Real yamaha smoked high screen & original clear.Led indicators, front are smoked flush fit,all e-marked.Sprint steering damper. Bad bits.High mileage -69,500k.Seat split.Front mudguard has piece missing from disc lock.Undertray has couple of cracks.Akrapovic end can has creases.I was hit up the rear 3 years ago. Drivers foot slipped off clutch whilst sitting behind me at a roundabout. This caused damage to factory tailtidy/ plate & exhaust can mentioned above.Because I used insurance now classed as cat n(non structural ).Should have just repaired- would have been less grief.No mot,expired 6 months agoChain & sprockets- chain stiff in a few places & front sprocket knacked.Needs oil change and suggest balance throttle bodies.Rear tyre still legal,2mm centre & 4.4mm sides.Front too worn but I have a spare part worn 2.7mm centre & 3.7mm sides.All are Michelin road pilot 4's.Wheels are in bad state,paint peeled and bubbled.Could do with sandblast & powder coat.Please study photos.Looks tidy overall,and is,but will have some chips,marks etc to body work.Has done 69.5k mileage.Started up for first time in 6 months, sounds great.Goes like fxxk ,I took to a few track days a couple of years ago.Keeps up with latest bikes no problem.Exhaust is e-marked/legal with removable baffle.Two folders ,one full of mot's and one has 9 years of receipts.For mot you will need to replace chain/sprockets and front tyre (supplied ).CASH ON COLLECTION BY 28th JUNEContact me if you want to inspect first asYOU BID TO BUY NOT HAGGLEBeen honest in description,will be sad to let go.
