1989 Honda CB-1 400 Unregistered JAP Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Proj Manufacturer: Honda Model: CB-1 400 Year: 1989 Engine No: NC23E-1206005 Frame No: NC27-1005983 Colour: Red Mileage: 11792 KM Capacity: 399cc Starting at: £1499.99 Stock No: 88659 This well respected and much sought after 1989 Honda CB-1 400 has recently been imported from Japan where it has spent all its life. This and the fact it's only showing 11792km (7400 miles) and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks. We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you can see this bike is complete & remarkably original. It has stood a while so the battery is flat & the chain needs a good oiling. There is evidence around the battery box of some electrical over heating but everything apart from the indicators are working!? BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.........This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures from 31 years ago & it is every bit as nice as it looks here.....A true time warp machine!. The wheels are straight with nice clean alloy rims, good discs, calipers & working master cylinders. Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome & clean alloy. Mudguard is both solid & very tidy. Tail light assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments & switches look great. Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. Paintwork is solid, fuel tank is squeaky clean inside and very nice original paint but it does have a dent/damage on the front l/h side. Exhaust is original & solid. Seat is in very good condition throughout. Indicators are tidy. Chain guard is tidy. Shock absorber is damping fine. The engine is cosmetically very clean, it turns over nicely off the starter – sounds/feels great & has compression BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel from a dummy tank it fires, starts, runs & revs.....THIS IS A CRACKER!!!This is only a very brief description….If you are placing a bid reliant on parts that can’t be seen in the pictures being there and/or in serviceable condition or require any further information please give us a call or message us. We HAVE NOT got the Certificate of Title but we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.(This can take upto 4 weeks) You need to get the bike MOTed. (Vehicles over 40 years old are MOT exempt) You need proof of the year of manufacture in writing. Owners clubs and associations can help with this. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number.
