2004 Ducati Monster Dark M400 IE Unregistered JAP Import Running Project Manufacturer: Ducati Model: Monster Dark 400 IE Year: 2004 Engine No: ZDM400A2000432 Frame No: ZDMM407AA4B049773 Colour: Black Mileage: 1040 KM Capacity: 398cc Starting at: £1599.99 Stock No: 88643 This lovely looking 2004 Ducati Monster Dark 400ie has recently been imported from Japan where it has spent all its life. This and the fact it's only showing 1040km (650miles) and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks. Though it looks entirely plausible We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you may or may not know, here at DK Motorcycles we have very little knowledge or experience with these classic Italian bikes but luckily you aficionados usually put us right!?. As you can see this bike is virtually complete missing just the r/h mirror. It is also incredibly original but for the tasty rearsets. It has stood a while so the battery is flat. Looking around the bike there are minor scuffs on the leading corners of the silencers & ball ends of the clutch & brake levers. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.........This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures from 16 years ago & it is every bit as nice as it looks here.....A true time warp machine!. The wheels are straight with nice clean alloy, good discs, calipers & working master cylinders. Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome & clean alloy. Mudguard is very tidy. Tail light assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments & switches look great. Throttles are free sliding off the twist grip. Paintwork is solid, fuel tank is squeaky clean inside. Exhausts are original & solid. Seat is in very good condition throughout. Indicators are tidy. Chain guard is tidy. Shock absorber is damping fine. The engine is cosmetically very clean BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery it fires, starts, runs & revs. This is only a very brief description….If you are placing a bid reliant on parts that can’t be seen in the pictures being there and/or in serviceable condition or require any further information or more pictures please give us a call or message us. We HAVE NOT got the Certificate of Title but we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.(This can take upto 4 weeks) Registration. You need to get the bike MOTed. (Vehicles under 40 years old only) You need proof of year of manufacture in writing. For Aprilias we suggest getting in touch with Aprilia UK or in the past North Liecester Motorcycles have been very helpful. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number. Spares you may need Our used spares dept may carry items you need for this project, give them a call on 01782 862200, if parts are available they will be happy to list them on EBay so you can purchase.
