Honda XL125 1975 Twin Shock. I have just done a short video clip of the bike being started and ridden which I am unable to post on here if you wish to see it , contact me and I will send it to you. It is not HD and only 5.2 Mb 15 seconds long. Honda XL125, This is a 1976 model registered in November 1975. Registered as a historic vehicle so tax and MOT exempt The mileage is 19581 but has only done a few miles since rebuild, I originally purchased the bike to ride some trails and gentle green lanes on, but after getting carried away with the rebuild it was too nice to get dirty or damaged. I have other bikes that I tend to go to, for road use so the XL is not getting the use it deserves. I have owned this bike for 3 years and 2 years ago a full refurbishment was completed, this included the following. Frame , swing arm, levers, brackets , side stand, wheels and headlight shell have been powder coated. Tank and rear mudguard re-sprayed. Seat recovered in a very high grade vinyl by a professional upholsterer. There is a new 150cc big bore kit fitted & the original 125cc barrel and piston are included in the sale. New bearings and seals fitted to, front and rear wheels, head stock and swing arm. New drive chain and sprockets. New tyres and inner tubes. New electrics, including battery, indicators with led bulbs, electronic flasher unit, rear light with led bulb, headlight bulb and led side light, Ignition switch, kill switch and wiring. All tank & side panel mounting rubbers replaced with new. Service items replaced, air filter, plug, points, fork & engine oil. Forks rebuilt with new seals and gaiters. New front mudguard and mirrors fitted. New shock absorbers. New fuel tap, carburettor float, jets & gaskets. Control cables replaced. Brakes serviced. Stainless steel fasteners used where possible. The bad points, the plastic lens on the rev counter is cracked and the face is faded. The rev counter works ok. The rev counter is not original as there was not one fitted to the 1976 model, I assume that this rev counter came from a 1975 bike. Also the chrome on the head light surround is pitted. This is a lovely bike but I have too many toys and not enough time to play with them all. As can be seen a lot of time & money has been spent on this XL there are a lot of receipts to go with it.
