1991 Yamaha FJ1200 3CV Unregistered JAP Import Barn Find Restoration Project Manufacturer: Yamaha Model: FJ1200 Year: 1991 Engine No: 3CV-011441 Frame No: 3CV-011441 Colour: Blue Mileage: 18981 Capacity: 1188cc Starting at: £999.99 Stock No: 88093 This Second Generation 1991 Yamaha FJ1200 has recently been imported from Japan. We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........ As you can see, aside from a mirror, this bike is pretty much complete. Much of the aluminium, in particular the footrest hangers, has oxidised. Looking around this bike it is entirely possible that it hasn't ever been dropped, which is not bad going for nearly 30 years old. There are some marks and scratches that could have been caused by propping the up against something or maybe transit damage. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS......... The wheels are straight with good discs, calipers and working front brake. The forks and yokes look straight but there is a bit of pitting higher up the legs. The tail light assy is good as is the headlight and bracketing. Instruments and switches look okay and everything on the switches that should move does so. The paintwork is slightly faded but solid. Pushing and pulling at the body work hasn't revealed anything loose, except a broken lug on the front mudguard. We can't open the fuel tank but a bit of patience may be successful. The seat looks to be in good condition throughout. The indicators are tidy. The chain guard is tidy. The rear mudguard is complete. The standard exhaust is a bit rusty underneath but is solid. We have had it firing/running & revving on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention. If you are ready for a new project and have been looking for a classic Yamaha FJ1200 to restore then look no further – THIS ONE COULD BE YOURS!!! THIS VEHICLE COMES WITH THE JAPANESE CERTIFICATE OF TITLE AND WE WILL PROVIDE PROOF THAT VAT & DUTY IS PAID ON THE NOVA SYSTEM.(This can take upto 4 weeks) For a charge of £100 we can get this vehicle UK registered with the DVLA. Registration. You need to get the bike MOTed. (Vehicles under 40 years old only) You need proof of year of manufacture in writing. The Japanese Title is a recognised document for this purpose. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number.
