DT125MX Restoration Project. V5 present in my name. Black on Log Book.6 Former keepers. Registered 28.Mar.1981 One year away from being MoT & Tax exempt at 40 years old. Will probably take that long to restore it. This is a 39 year old bike which has not been on the road for many years. Videos of bike. Walkaround. https://youtu.be/KBx02H6Qq2ERunning on choke. https://youtu.be/VG6_HbD-_oQ Bike is almost complete with an incorrect tail light bracket (light itself is correct) and after-market tail pipe.It has rusty parts with some broken bolts. Has a key (Krooklock - really) which works for ignition switch which works to turn off / on bike & in second position to turn on lights. No key for steering lock & helmet holder.Front forks are in good condition under gaiters with very little pitting of the chrome.They work but may not have any fork oil in them. Has it's original clocks with the hard to find mounting bracket, rubbers & silver rings around themWhen bike is running most lights are working, neutral, headlights, brake lights. Horn is rusty but present, don't think it works. Seat cover is ripped & missing on one side at top. Foam doesn't appear too damaged so a new seat cover should be enough to repair it. The bolts that hold the seat to the bike are snapped off in the frame so will need drilling out. All plastics are present, original front & rear plastic mudguards are all un-molested with no extra holes drilled or any major damage. Fuel tank is dented & looks to have had a previous dent repair. It holds fuel & currently has half a gallon of new fuel in it.Carburettor was totally full of crud in float bowl which has been cleaned out but the whole fuel system needs a clean out. I have put in a new fuel filter to catch the worst that might come from the tank.Air cleaner filter was decomposed & has been removed. Tyres are obviously old & the front tyre has great tread but is cracked on sidewall in one area where has been standing. Rear tyre has very little tread remaining. Both tyres hold air. Brakes front & rear are working. Has front brake light switch connected & the stop / kill switch is missing its switch part so doesn't work. Has original front exhaust which has been repaired quite well. Has original joiner between front & aftermarket go-faster tail pipe. This joiner like most of the rubber parts on the bike is perished & is letting smoke through when running.The front exhaust manifold gasket is leaking slightly & one of the threads for the bolts looks to have been drilled out & retapped. Rear metal under mudguard is present & rusted through in places, also has one split - may be repairable.. Bike is running on choke & will ride although the clutch grabs as it hasn't been used in a long time. Chain guard is complete but missing pop rivets or bolts which connect the metal part to the plastic part.Chain is oiled & works ok. Rear sprocket is worn out but front sprocket looks OK. Indicator switch has broken off & a separate switch has been fitted for indicators although the bike has none now. I've tried to be a comprehensive as possible listing the bike's faults, please message me through ebay if you have any questions or wish to view the bike before bidding.
