2007 Yamaha YZF R1 GreyREG: PN57 GWGREG Date: 13 December 2007Mileage: 21kMOT: 5 October 2020For sale here is my Yamaha R1 that I bought in 2019 as a road and track bike, I’ve used it only once on the road and took it to 4 track days.I sold my older track bike in 2018 to put money towards moving to a new house, which I did last year. I bought a house that needed a lot of work and whilst waiting for windows to be fitted I got bored and browsed online for bikes as I do whenever I have an internet connection! I found this beauty and a few days later I snuck out of the house and returned several hours later with it in the van. My wife not as enthusiastic with the purchase as I was and questioned how we would afford a new kitchen and a new track bike!A week later the windows were delayed again and I got back online, I returned home the following weekend with an Aprilia RSV and this time she was, let’s say, extremely unimpressed with another bike and no money left for the kitchen! I used that Aprilia only once and then conceded the battle and sold it.Sadly, I have all but lost the war and now the R1 has to go. It is just a track bike for me as I have a road bike which is unused this year also so I cannot keep both and remain married😊I prefer track bikes to be road legal as I had a track only bike previously and testing it before a track day was impossible so one with MOT and Insurance is my preference.I bought this bike from a Royal Marine Officer that had not had much time to use it since purchasing it from a friend of his, unfortunately there isn’t a massive list of history available with the bike (no handbook either) but I can assure you it is solid and the performance is bonkers. I beat all my best track times with it and even though I have only owned it for a year, I am very fond of it and do not really ant to part with it. The bike is not perfect, the body work has some scratches and signs of use (it’s a 2007 model don’t forget).The steering damper works but possibly needs service as it sounds… squishy!The bike is due a service, but I would recommend you do that with any bike you purchase used. The good news is I am including a high spec service kit with the bike (see photos).I do not ride over winter so will charge the battery, but it might need replacing.Apologies for not cleaning the bike for the photos, I will clean it this weekend but at least you get to see it raw and not tarted up or hiding anything. Included with the bike:Service items (engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs, coolant, brake fluid and EBC EPFA front brake pads, you just need an air filter).A Mivv De-Cat Link Pipe (A used one I never fitted).New aftermarket flush indicators for the front. Collection only on this obviously, I could help with delivery if local though as I have a van. I can also supply videos of my track days on it in 2019 if required as test riding might be tricky currently.
