Description
This listing is for my Piaggio Fly 50cc 4t scooter, which is a 2009 model. This bike has been sat in my garden but well covered up, since her last MOT in 2017 (see photo of MOT certificate) and has not been used or ridden since passing that MOT (which has since expired), as reflected in the odometer reading (again see photo). The reason for sale is because I passed my full bike licence and long since changed up to a higher powered bike. This bike, as it has not seen any mileage since its last MOT, is either MOT ready or close to it. It is still a good project bike for anyone who has some degree of mechanical inclination but you don't need to necessarily be a mechanic, as the issues are all pretty minor and none are MOT failures. I would bring it to the MOT myself but unfortunately do not have insurance or a car/trailer to do so. Issues that need attention: - Topbox has no lock so you could fit one or maybe buy one of those larger x2 helmet top boxes on Ebay for £30, or just use the current one as it is... - The bike doesn't come with a battery as this long since died and I just thought it was better to let the new owner take care of this. - The left mirror mount is damaged (this is NOT an MOT failure issue as mirrors are not included in MOT testing). Again I thought to leave this to new owner to decide to either fit alternative fitting mirror if you wish to do so of replace the left cable brake lever that contains the mount. -There's a small plastic panel on the front that is damaged from an attempted theft from previous owner. This can be covered by an L-plate or you can probably get one on Ebay for £5 but it's not something that's bothered me while I had the bike. - Whereas the bike starts and runs very well, after I restarted it a few weeks ago I cleaned out the carburettor and adjusted the air/fuel mixture screw and the idle screw. Sometimes when it starts up it is not immediately restarting (but does not cut out once started), then after I come back 30 mins later she starts up happily again. I think that the fuel/air might be a little rich (too much fuel) and needs a simple adjustment of the air/fuel screw. Sometimes you have to make it rich (more fuel) when you're starting it after a long time but then once it gets going again that air/fuel screw adjustment needs to be reset to less rich... - The seat has a little bit of decay/ minor tears around the top but again this comes down to preference for the new owner as it can be left like this, covered, repaired or they are normally available on Ebay for £15. Good points: -This bike hasn't been used since last MOT so she's either MOT ready or close to it. All electronics, indicator lights, high/low beam & everything else works. - Lots of tread depth on front and rear tyres. - She has a rack attached, easy to carry pillion passenger & store items for transportation. - As she's a 2009 she's exempt from both congestion charge and ULEZ - drive for free in central London and avoid tube to avoid the current situation. - She's got a relatively low mileage (14547 kilometres) and only about 3 previous owners. - I've got all paperwork and log book and will transfer registered keeper to new owner (free) and have spare key also. - She also has a glove box at front, as well as underseat storage and rack. - She can be ridden if you have your CBT (with L-plates)/or your motorcycle licence /or a full car licence from before 2001. -Great bike to start out on and as a minor project for example if you're furloughed and want to save money on buying your bike and/or if you want to fix her up/MOT her and sell her on. - I've put price at what I consider a very fair £325 buy-it-now as I want a quick sale and bidding starting at £280. Successful buyer to collect from Ealing. Cash on collection preferred please.
