Kawasaki KLR 250 for sale. I bought this bike a few years ago. I didn't know much about bikes but have ridden them for a number of years & I can do the basics. It had been left for a long time in the corner of a garage and was a little run down. The main issue was the clutch was seized and the usual consumables were worn out. I have had to put in a new battery, back tyre, inner tube, oil, oil filter, spark plug, air filter and do a bump start then a ride round the block to free the clutch to get that working. I have had the bike for a couple of years mainly to muck about on, doing some green lanes. I didn't restore it to be pristine because at the end of the day when you are off roading it will get muddy. Over the years I got fond of the bike and bought a new seat (the old one had a tear) and a speedo (old one was in KM/H) so if you look at the MOT it looks a bit out because of the change from KMH to miles but I have kept the old speedo if you want to check it. The bike is on a 1990 plate and is 30 years old but was imported and registered in the UK in the late 90's. I do like riding off road but its a little small for me. Top speed on the road is just over 50 MPH but downhill its a little more. I have noticed its a little smokey lately and seems to burn oil. I have now got the bug and want a DRZ 400 so the KLR has to go. The MOT is due in July 2020 but not sure if the gov will extend by 6 months? Its 30 years old and sold as seen. You can never be sure of the history on a bike of that age. Its been fun and I have enjoyed its company. You really need to look before you bid as the pictures make her look better than she is. Tank has a few small dents and paint chips but the plastics are not too bad while the frame has lost paint and been touched up over the years. As I said it probably needs restoration to make her look really nice. This year I have done a few thousand miles on her. I did some TET work and Salisbury Plain a few times. Anyway if it sounds like something you are interested in please take a look before you bid as I have given an honest over view and its sold as seen.
