Description

Relisted due to dreamers who's wallet isn't bigger enough to match their dreams, please dont waste time, only bid if you appreciate and understand everything that goes into building a bike like this, and you have asked your partner first. Welcome to the sale of my pro built 1978 Honda CB Bobber, only selling to fund another project. Reading all the details below and seeing the photos you will understand the quality of the build, every nut and bolt is new. Look closely and you will see no keys for this bike, you start and stop it by a key fob, or by a sensor sewn into your gloves as I have done, very cool way to stop and stop your bike by waving your glove. That shows the attention to detail and quality that has gone into this build. It has an agreed insurance valuation of £7k and only costs £170 fully comp a year with every modification listed. A full summary of the main points, (there are lots more of fine details) are as follows; Hard tail conversion & 6” length increase, seamless tube, tig welded and crack tested.Full powder coating in Satin Black by Elite Engineering.Bearing set roller chassis.Upgrade front suspension to inverted forks from Aprilia Mito.Front brake upgrade, Radical Caliper, Goodridge braided line, EBC HH Pads, new Master Cylinder, new custom Stainless Steel disc.Full engine strip and rebuild, inc new pistons and valves.New exhaust system, custom made headers wrapped into ceramic coated, (Camcoat Warrington) Harley Davidson silencers with silencers inside, these can be removed if you want it louder.Honda XT350 rims, rebuilt by Alan Atkinson with heavy duty Hagon stainless steel spokes, new bearings, rims powder coated satin black by Elite Engineering, Liverpool.New Firestone Tyres, high speed rated. All new control cables.Dynatek electronic ignition system.Bespoke Chain tensioner wheelNew steel mudguards, powder coated satin black, by Elite Engineering.New modern Regulator/Rectifier imported from Dime City Cycles, USA.Full new bespoke wiring loom using Motogadget M Unit & M Lock (keyless & immobiliser) Majority of wiring inside the frame. Full wiring schematic included.LED small CNC aluminium indicators, brake and tail light.Motogadget handlebar switches.Digital speedo in headlight, along with illuminated signal indicators.Old skool oil pressure gauge. Two oil breathers, custom catcher tank.Suzuki 380GT petrol tank, 1 english white (red & black stripes) & 1 black (gloss & matt, decal stripes), both with knee pads, both resprayed 3 months ago.Old skool bobber seat, covered in black Nappa leather and red Bentley double stitching.New Clutch plates fitted (David Silver Spares)Full engine tune and carb set up by 1970 Honda experts D&M Engineering in summer 2019, D&M are the experts in 1970 Honda CB's classic racing and prep a number of bikes for the Classic TT, Google them to see. A 5 month wait to get booked in to them. Full receipts to prove including compression test and results. The bike has been on the road since summer 2018 doing the Distinguished Gentlemans Ride, Lancashire as one of its first outings, then just shake down rides (depending on the weather, it has never seen a wet road and only out in summer) Serviced by D&M Engineering in July 2019 was the finishing point. The MOT expired in September 2019 but didn't re-MOT as couldn't get a dry day before Autumn. (It still needs an MOT as the frame it is built on was imported, and is registered against the date of the import) The bike has been MOT'd today and has only done 500 miles since the build and full engine rebuild, just enough to for shake down rides to sort any niggles. When you consider everything gone into this bike, the reserve is very realistic, when considering what other similar bikes but of lesser quality or levels of work/parts are going for on Ebay. But please remember this is not the same as owning a brand new bike, it at its core is a 1978 bike and will need looking after and occasional tweaks and spannering. You can see and hear the bike with the following YouTube links;https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oX0YGr-Huishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JoKYC0nH-0 May be removed from sale as the bike is listed elsewhere. Also available by separate negotiation is a heavy duty bespoke built plated trailer, built from a heavy duty compressor trailer, which holds the bobber with custom brackets front and back, which means no straps are needed to hold the bike very securely, I have used the trailer to transport very heavy bikes, Harley, Pan European etc no problems. Again everything on the trailer is new, suspension units, wheels, tyres, stainless mudguards (powder coated) and the whole trailer was galvanised by Mersey Galvanising after the build. Viewing is available, if you are prepared to abide by social distancing, no test rides unless i have cash in my hand. No Part Ex thanks, as I want to build a different bike next. I may be able to deliver at a fixed price based on location, but payment would need to be made first.
