1982 Honda CR 250I have owned this bike for about 9 years, I bought it as a barn find.After inspecting the bike I could see that it was a very original uk bike and a reasonably low hour bike.I decided to strip and rebuild it with the plan to keep it as original as possible.List of jobs done:Shot blast and repaint frame.Strip and rebuild wheels using original hubs and rims. New old stock spokes.Engine stripped and rebuilt, replacing all needed. Unfortunately the water pump housing was corroded, this was repaired with liquid metal. This repair appears to have been successful as it’s still ok 8 years later. Although I would recommend changing the water pump housing if you’re planning to race it. I believe they are available now.New plastics and seat cover. The old plastics and the seat cover will be sold with the bike. They in ok condition and could be used if preferred.Various new old stock parts used during the rebuild. New tyres, chain, sprockets and air filter.I refitted the original radiators, exhaust, handle bars, levers, throttle, brake pedal, foot pegs, fork gaiters and gear lever. Most of the fixings are original and where nickel plated.The bad points:Water pump coverSuspension would need servicing/rebuildingI noticed while cleaning it that the rear hub is damaged, please see picture.This will need repairing or replacing. Exhaust is original and has been repaired, it is serviceable but ideally could do with a new one. The bikes starts easily and rides well. I’ve hardly used it so will need setting up. Cash on collection and collection only. Sold as seen.
