Kawasaki GTR 1000 Tourer, 1987 (D plate) 42551 miles The time has come for me to finally part with this absolute bumper of a bike!I'm selling it for spares or repair but hoping someone with mechanical knowledge & time on their hands (I have neither!) will get it running again as it's been a brilliant machine for me. Here's its story... Bought it in 2006 and got knocked off it October 2009, the insurance wrote it off (Cat D). I replaced the left foot peg, left hand mirror clutch lever & put it back on the road, happy days.Damage not able to repair due to lack of available parts at the time - cracked right hand wing mirror, cracked front bumper and cracks near both wing mirrors.It has age related scuffs, faring cracks & small split on the seat.A fault developed in 2012 whereby when I put it in gear and revved it to move, as soon as the clutch started to bite it would stall, (if I held the clutch lever in if would rev freely)I fitted a new clutch. It didn't help.I asked people on forums for advice, asked every bike shop on my travels and did lots of tinkering, didn't help, still had the problem, so I gave up and put it away for a rainy day, and now I know my rainy day has passed.Been dry stored since 2012 which was when I gave up.Currently SORN'dIt has the V5, 2 keys, standard screen & touring screen, lockable hard shell panniers with key It is collection only from NE17 (Newcastle Upon Tyne area) £350 or best offer
