Description
BSA A65 Thunderbolt 1967 I bought this bike last year as an unfinished project. The crank and cylinder head had been rebuilt and many parts replaced. The brand new parts included: Battery Wheels and tyres Brakes Mudguards Speedometer Silencers Wiring loom The frame was repainted and the fuel tank replaced with a better second one. When I bought it, it was very hard to kick over, the engine seemed too tight. I removed the head and barrels, and also the primary and timing cases to find the issue, which turned out to be the oil pump. I replaced the pump with a new SRM unit, and also replaced the standard points ignition with a Wassell electronic ignition and new coils. The new oil pump can be seen in the pictures, and also the engine with the head removed. The bike now runs very well, everything works (the front brake seems poor but it’s got new shoes to bed in, and I’m used to Brembo twin discs on my Ducati) The only faults I can think of are that the silencers are not correct for the bike ( the brackets are in the wrong place so I made stainless steel straps to hold them on), and one side panel is missing. Viewing is welcome, the bike is in Southend, Essex
