Probably one of the last bikes to roll of the production line, this is the final iteration of the 2 stroke motorcycle which ran from 2008 to 2012 before strict Euro4 emission regulations were introduced in 2012 causing Aprilia to discontinue the 2 stroke and eventually replace it with the less desirable 4 stroke Euro4 RS 125 in 2016. The Aprilia RS 125 is a legendary single-cylinder Rotax-Aprilia two stroke carburettor powerhouse. A proper thoroughbred small capacity sports bike and the stuff of dreams for youngsters the world over. Even to this day, it is still the point of reference for small capacity sports bikes. The RS125 Superteen Challenge, for example, launched the MotoGP careers of Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith to name just a few. The sporting ability of the Aprilia RS125 is cemented in history. The key to the RS125’s popularity has always been its performance. Despite arriving restricted with only 15 bhp from factory, getting up to 34 bhp out of an RS is pretty simple and it can even reach beyond 100 mph. Couple that with a GP racing derived lightweight chassis which feels better with speed, a 4-pot front caliper with a massive 320 mm front disc to inspire confidence with unrivalled braking power, and a 125cc legend is born. Being a 2 stroke motorcycle, periodic engine maintenance is necessary on the RS125. This particular motorcycle had a full engine rebuild carried out by Teasdale Motorcycles on 31/07/2018 at 3172 miles (600 miles ago). A big-bore kit was also fitted at the time to increase capacity to 140cc. An invoice totalling £1121 for labour and parts is shown in the photographs. The motorcycle will be supplied with a 12-months MOT.
