Description

This sil gp150/vijay150 super Mark 2 had been moth balled in new deli when i came across it. I had an Italian, a Spanish and so wanted something 100% Indian. I have quite a few scooters of all different oddities. The scooter has had some work carried out, innocenti gnition switch that had been rebuilt by jem booth and a innocenti nos headlight junction/bulb holder again from jem booth. These two were done just for reliability as the indian ones were not good quality. New tyres and tubes, nylon lined cables and a few fixing that were a bit chewed. The engine has been out and barrel exhaust studs replaced while the top end was checked over. Everything is in good condition so it went back together with new gaskets. It runs quite well, I was surprised. If I was to have it on the road then I would have rebuilt the engine with a gt186 kit and bgm clubman. Nerdy interesting fact, they came as standard with an Indian made mikuni carb. It is still registered on an indian log book. A UK log book will need to be applied for. I have previously had it mot d which has now expired. This scooter is suited to someone that likes original paint unrestored lambrettas. Should not be italianised and covered in madness stickers. Wasn't sure how this was going to be recieved but its clear that indian scooters like the spanish are now fully appreciated. In answer to common questions. Yes it runs, I have not been far literaly local streets. I have a spare new sil gp200 and a gt186 kit so had been dithering how to go so have left it standard but road worthy. Here is it running. Footboards were not bolted down so its rattly, I was waiting for new runners. https://m.facebook.com/groups/269577596475179?view=permalink&id=2797365323696381&ref=m_notif¬if_t=feedback_reaction_generic Yes I noticed that the hub locking plate is missing, I have it but had ordered a new locking screw. its now on. The paint has been polished by hand with Maguires paint restorer. Long winded but the effect is good. Then waxed and any patina anchor waxed. Being in India then dry stored here its not been covered in UK salt so still rust free even where the paint has worn by the 5 passengers sitting on the back. I said I have replaced the tyres. I have replaced the two front and back. I have never taken the cover off of the spare to see how it is. I think its fair to assume that its due to be replaced after all these years. The original tyres were continental r 85 ???? Looked the same as the k62 zippy 3 so I went with the same again.
