KZ 1000 Special Brew. Genuine UK bike (Blast from the past)Time has come to pass on my "Special Brew" Kawasaki KZ1000 A1 of 1977 vintage. HISTORY. I bought this bike in 1982 already customised by its previous owner. A year later I sold it to a friend who run it for a few years and I bought it back in 199? .RECENT HISTORY. Since then I have completely rebuilt re stoved and re painted it to its current incarnation. The bike is fitted with some really nice period parts ie, Henry Abe wheels , a deep brace JMC swinging arm, Koni dial a rides and Kerker full race exhaust, When I had the frame powder coated I replaced the rusty rear footpeg mounts with welded on solid steel ones of my own design, the originals harboured water and rusted out. I also removed the centre stand brackets so possibly not for the purists tee hee.The new paint/art work was done by my brother in law , check out "Paint Shop Pro's" and won best paint at local Posse bike show in 2017 .It has only covered just 723 miles since rebuilt, I still have original speedo showing 17085 miles. And believe its correct because I've known the bike for 28 years and on rebuild it showed standard pistons , so a new set of rings were fitted and bores honed. New valve stem seals , re-faced and shimmed .Electronic ignition fitted also. All the brake callipers were stripped and fitted with new pistons, seals and dust covers. I have pics somewhere of work done. I spent a lot of money with Z Power on new and replacement parts . Switches , engine parts, low cut seat, grab rail , handle bars, rubbers, pads etc etc. The list is long. There will be an envelope full of receipts for all that stuff with the bike. Plus a few old bits and pieces , original clocks etc. Its quite quick at the moment but would benefit from a carb build or ideally a set of CR carbs fitting. Its a tricky bike to start but once its hot ,wow. Has not lost that pull like a train power. Hate to say it but am getting on now and its to heavy for me .... its three years since I refreshed her so there is a little polishing and tidying but nothing major. Just being honest . One pic shows bike in kitchen just after finishing it. Oh and I'll also give buyer an oil cooler kit which I had built but never hooked it up. Plus any other bits.please message me any questions . absolutely no test pilots .. just a little tender care and itll be a show bike again. Genuinely going to miss this part of my life...
