1978 Honda CB750A Hondamatic Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Restoratio Manufacturer: Honda Model: CB750A Hondamatic Year: 1978 Engine No: CB750AE-7204543 Frame No: CB750A-7204540 Colour: Maroon Mileage: 13019 Capacity: 736cc Starting at: £1499.99 Stock No: 90036 This 1978 Honda CB750A Hondamatic (Auto) has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........ As you can see this bike has few parts missing, but the seat cover is trashed and the foam isn't too clever. The front Suzuki indicators are a bit skewiff. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS......... The wheels are straight with nice clean alloy, good discs, calipers and working brakes, though the front does stick a bit. The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome. The tail light assy is good, the headlight looka bit small. The clocks look quite bright but the cases are a bit dull. The switches look okay and everything that moves that should. The carburettors move off the twist grip, but are a bit stiff. The paintwork is faded but solid, fuel tank is squeaky clean inside. The seat base is in good condition throughout. The rear indicators are tidy. The chain guard is tidy. Both mud guards are solid, but the front is a bit knocked. The standard exhaust looks pretty good ut has some enterprisng repairs apparent. The engine is cosmetically clean. We have had it firing/running & revving on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention. If you are ready for a new project and have been looking for a classic Hondamatic to restore then look no further – THIS ONE COULD BE YOURS!!! We HAVE NOT got the Certificate of Title but we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.(This can take upto 4 weeks) Registration. You need to get the bike MOTed. (Vehicles over 40 years old are MOT exempt) You need proof of year of manufacture in writing. To get a recognised dating letter apply in writing to Honda Motorcycle Operations at the following address. Year of Manufacture, Honda (UK),Cain Road, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 1HLThe following information for the bike should quoted, Model, VIN, Engine number. Additionally you should include your contact details (telephone number and email). There is administration fee of £30 (25 + VAT) which can be paid by cheque or postal order payable to Honda (UK). If information needs to be acquired from Japan the the "Proof of year of manufacture" letter can take upto 6 weeks to arrive. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number. Spares you may need Our used spares dept may carry items you need for this project. Any parts available will be offered for sale on eBay.
