Description
TRIUMPH TIGER CUB T20 TRIALS 1960 Frame No. T68199 Engine No. T20 3143 Road registered with age related number and current V5C, in need of re-commissioning. I built this bike myself 20 years ago for my 40th birthday, using a 1960 fame, the year of my birth. I used it for a number of years, on the road only (Sprockets are sized for road use. The gearbox sprocket can be accessed and changed without splitting the engine.), and even took part in a ‘Spirit of the sixties’ event. The frame has been strengthened and modified for trials, blasted and powder coated. The tank is a 3 gallon road tank, professionally 2 pack painted. There is a peanut trials tank included which will need work and painting. Wheels are genuine aluminium ‘Akront’, 18” Rear, 21” front, with stainless spokes. Hubs are powder coated, and brake plates 2 pack painted. Front forks are the sturdier longer type used for trials, and to accommodate the 21” wheel, probably off a T90 or similar. The engine is a later side points type, and loosely assembled at the moment. I began a couple of years ago, to modify for self-generating PVL ignition. I have also attempted to fit a Honda con rod and big end assembly, but struggled with no success to make the nearside crank pin run true. This is where I got to when my time back then was taken elsewhere. If I were to re-commission, I would source another crank and rod assembly, and maybe have the assembly professionally re-built. Engine has had a rebore and new piston, new bearings and bushes, new clutch basket, plates and springs, new primary chain. And many more small parts, gaskets etc., but obviously does not run yet. An Amal concentric carburettor is fitted. There is a new drive chain, currently not fitted. The bike will need a good clean and polish, there is some surface pitting to the chrome work, but some hard work with Autosol would make it look acceptable. I kick myself for leaving it in my shed for so long!! Everything on the bike functions fine, just the engine needs sorting. I could help with delivery, by bringing as far as Exeter for £20 petrol money, otherwise there are many reliable insured motorcycle delivery firms around.Payment on collection please, with small deposit by paypal.
