The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........ As you can see this bike has many parts missing, we could point out that there are mud guards no exhaust, no electrics. But to put it simply, this bike isn't hiding anything. If you cant see it, it isn't there. There is no box of bits. We think the front end is off a Yamaha motocrosser, it is certainly Japanese not British. The rear sprocket on the back wheel is much wider than the front sprocket, suggesting the rear wheel is off something else too. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS......... The wheels look straight. The forks and yokes look straight. The frame looks to be straight and the oil tank sits in it nicely. The engine is is an 1969 unit, and cosmetically clean. It cranks over nicely, off the kick start and if you fiddle with the accessable front sprocket and gear lever, it will select gears. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated. We HAVE NOT got the Certificate of Title but we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.(This can take upto 4 weeks) Registration. You need to get the bike MOTed. (Vehicles over 40 years old are MOT exempt) You need proof of year of manufacture in writing. We suggest contacting North Liecester Motorcycles who have been very helpful. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number. Spares you may need Our used spares dept may carry items you need for this project. Any parts available will be offered for sale on eBay.
