Description
I purchased this 2005 Triumph Daytona as a Category N repairable bike (I have both keys). I completed all the repairs which was mainly the replacement of the body panels as well as a new Headlight and Engine cover. The mechanical items including headlight were replaced with brand new items from Triumph. Due to lack of availability, I got a full fairing set for the bike from China. The paint colour is a very good match and all the panels on the bike have been replaced with the new ones except for the tank, and front mudguard which are the original items but match up really well. After doing all the work, it passed it's MOT with no advisories, however, it soon develpped an intermittent oil pressure warning light issue. Having done the all of the work and riding the bike, I realised that Sports Bikes are a little to frantic for my style of riding (I have two other bikes) so rather than have it spend even more time in the garage waiting for me to get round to fixing the oil pressure light issue, I have decided it is better to pass it on to a new owner who can do the work and enjoy the bike! Here is my honest account of any niggles I have with the bike you should be aware of. First is the oil pressure light, seems to come and go, you can see in the picture than when the bike was first running the light was off, but once the bike is up to temp, it came on, but has in the past gone back off again. As part of the original damage to the bike, the oil pressure sender was replaced, but there was also damage to the wire to connect to it. The wire was repaired, but it is very possible that this issue could either be a faulty sender, or the wiring needs a better repair. However, as I have not looked into it, I cannot say for sure it is either of these and could be something else. The buyer will have to work this out for themselves. The other niggle I have with the bike is the fit of some of the fairing panels. On the whole the bike looks very good, but the fit of the main panel running under the seat does not clip neatly to the black underside and there is a bit of a lip / gap on both sides. I have tried to show this as best I can from the photos. Also, the black paint finish on the air intake is not great, but this could be easily re-sprayed if it bothered you. There are a couple of other minor blemishes on the body, and the fit of the black panels either side of the instruments is not as I would have liked. As I say all these items are only visible up close, but wanted to give a full and honest description of the bike. Both the tyres are in very good condition and the rear is not flattened. As with any of these issues on the bike, I am more than happy to provide any additional pictures or information if required as I can only put 12 on the ad. You can see that the bike has only covered 9 miles since it's MOT, so needs to move on to a new home and someone who can finish it off and enjoy it! DELIVERY - I do not have means to deliver the bike myself, and due to the oil pressure issue I would not advise it being ridden until sorted. However, there are several bike shipping companies such as Any Van. I am happy to help arrange transport, but the buyer is responsible for ALL shipping costs. PAYMENT - Full payment will be required prior to pick up
