Hi. Here we have a 1975 unfinished project DT 175 I bought this project a couple of years back with a view to restoring it to its former glory but I have barely touched it and it is pretty much the same as it was when I first had it. As you can see from the photos, the frame and mudguards etc have been sprayed to a very good standard. The fuel tank and oil tank are immaculate and the saddle has a brand new cover on it. The chrome on the front wheel has some rusting. The rear wheel is not quite as good and has deeper pitting, however, it’s very serviceable depending on how fussy you want to be. Both tyres will need replacing. The previous owner said that although the engine ran, it ran rough! This was due to damaged sheathing on the cables going to the points etc. I have renewed these cables now so hopefully problem solved. The previous owner had also removed the head to check the engine for wear. There was no play in the top or bottom so they were left and just the rings replaced. The engine has now been re assembled but that is as far as I got and no attempt had been made to start it. The oil pump has been removed and replaced with an oil pump blanking plate and gasket. I was told that the oil pumps couldn’t be relied on when the bike is only used on occasion. Much safer to run on premix. The oil pump and drive are present if the new owner should choose to re-fit and choose to go that way instead. You will see from the photos that there is a lot of spares included in the sale and should include almost everything needed to finish this project. I am selling because I have lost interest and have other things to do. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer as honestly as possible. I have the v5 in my name.
