Description
A very rare bike imported back from the USA last year and now issued with a UK age related plate and V5A very rare bike imported back from the USA last year and now issued with an age related number plate and V5. The Electra was one of the first Brit bikes to have electric start fitted(which worked well) It was a development of the Norton Navigator with a 400cc engine giving more power. Like the Navigator it benifited from a Dominator front end with Roadholder forks ,nacelle , and front and rear Dominator brakes and wheels. Probably one of the best looking bikes in my opinion but Im biased having owned one in the distant past that gave me trouble free comfort and mileage. This particular bike left the factory on 20th May 1963 as confirmed by the club and has its origional matching numbers.I bought it to restore it and so far have only fitted new British handlebars and levers. and restored the tanks and toolboxI had the intention of fully restoring it but a major cost has arisen on my classic car so it has to go.The engine has not been touch and is therefore in an unknown condition but it turns freely with compression. It is missing its batteries but the wiring loom looks fine The front mudguard is not original and the centre stand is bent It comes with manuals and a spares listIt has been listed at a low price with no reserve to encourage bidding The bike is located in the Wye valley 25 miles north of Bristol A condition of sale is contact within 24 hours and payment within 7 days (If you are worried about collection in these times I would recommend Anyvan who are reliable and unbeatable on price usually)
