1981 Kawasaki GPz1100-B1 Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Manufacturer: Kawasaki Model: GPz1100-B1 Year: 1981 Engine No: KZT10BE001095 Frame No: JKAKZBB16BA001631 Colour: Red Mileage: 20196 Capacity: 1089cc Starting at: £999.99 Stock No: 90896 This very much sought after 1981 Kawasaki GPz1100-B1 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 20196 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks. We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........The main pictures have a watermark to prevent our adverts/listings being copied. As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Main stand, seat lock assy & the end of the chain guard being the most obvious. After market items include the Corbin seat & Kerker 4:1 exhaust system. It has stood a while so the battery is flat. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.........This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures from 40 years ago & it is every bit as nice as it looks here.....A true time warp machine!. The wheels are straight with nice clean alloy, good discs, calipers & working master cylinders. Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome. Mudguard is solid & tidy. Tail light assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments & switches look great. Throttles are free sliding off the twist grip. Paintwork is solid, fuel tank is useably clean inside and has just a disappointing dent on the r/h side. Indicators are not perfect but fairly tidy. Shock absorbers are damping fine. The engine is cosmetically clean - We have had it firing/running on easystart spray but the fuel system will need attention. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated. BUT, for bikes over 40 years old, if you want us to do it all for you - Inc a number plate, we charge just £100 to cover our admin costs. THIS VEHICLE COMES WITH THE US CERTIFICATE OF TITLE AND WE WILL PROVIDE PROOF THAT THE VAT & DUTY IS PAID ON THE NOVA SYSTEM.(This can take upto 4 weeks). Registration. You need to get the bike MOTed. (Vehicles under 40 years old only) You need proof of year of manufacture in writing. The American Title is a recognised document for this purpose. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number. Spares you may need Our used spares dept may carry items you need for this project. Any parts available will be offered for sale on eBay.
