TRX850 Custom Project - NO RESERVE AUCTION This is a 1997 frame. A relatively low mileage donor engine with approximately 23k on when I collected it from the breakers (I saw the clocks as engine was still in frame and running). I Acquired frame in 2014 and first presented the running bike for MOT in 2017 with odometer – purely to see if what I had been doing was acceptable for MOT – it was. This bike has a current MOT until16/10/2021 – and this is on a day time MOT as there is no headlight. Tyres fresh from a track bike – shown in pictures - these have replaced those shown on the bike - picture in listing Front: Racetec RR 120/70-17 K1 DOT 2618 Tread depth: Approx 2.7mm -- 3mm - 3mm REAR: Racetec RR 180/60-17 SX0219 DOT 1118 Tread depth approx: 4mm - 5mm - 3.5mm An aftermarket and second hand ODO now shows 10,453 – I have done approximately 3000 miles so I would say engine now has approximately 26k on it. All welding and fabrications have been professionally done by P&D customs in Slinfold. I am selling this as a road legal project (you can jump on it and ride it away) because there are several things in my mind that still need to be done – I got as far as I did and just wanted to ride it, which i did and have enjoyed. To start at the front it has an RSV front end with a Tuono top yoke conversion and after market bars. Tank is original TRX Frame has lugs removed and is slightly shorter at the rear by about an inch to accommodate the tail unit Seat is a yzf 750 Engine is original and has not been tuned – alternator cover is scuffed from a drop hence why I got it at breakers yard – and is uncovered in pics to show it. Coolant overflow bottle is strapped between engine and radiator bracket Carbs are original with cones but airbox present Rearsets are from an R1 Engine brace has been modified at the shock top mounting point to allow shock clearance through swing arm. Swingarm is from a RSV Tuono and is highly modified to accept original TRX swing arm spindle and lower shock mounts Rear shock is from a ZX10 Dog bones are from Yzf750 Tail unit is an aftermarket MV augusta piece. Paint job speaks for itself – although small chip on underside of tail unit – which I found and glued back in Swingarm and engine brace polished After market unknown make end cans – nice and loud - down pipes had slight mod on the right to go around swingarm Bike is running a 520 chain conversion and 2 offset front sprockets are present The bike is keyless – there are switches in the wiring that need to be on – in the correct sequence in order to ride the bike – you will be shown this only when you own the bike. Things I would look at if I had the time/inclination/money – depending on your take there may be more Rear brake switch arrangement – wired on currently works but not the best Wiring route at front around headstock Side stand/left hand rearset – initial feeling is with the sidestand up, it gets in the way – but you get used to it – but maybe needs a small rethink Lights – brake lights/rear lights and indicators are present and all work – can all be switched off for daytime MOT – I played with some little front lights but they’re possible naff. Replace blackened bolts as some have rusty appearance. Seat release arrangement Exhaust link pipes – get a professional job done If you’re still with me at this point – there is a spare engine – only any good for spare internals – several spare carb bodies – engine brace original – air box and possibly other bits – if you buy the bike you can either take these no extra cost or leave them behind – your choice Just to state the obvious – this bike has been modified and id recommend and encourage you view the bike.
