1978 Kawasaki Z1000A Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Projct Manufacturer: Kawasaki Model: KZ1000 A2 Year: 1978 Engine No: KZT00AE045797 Frame No: KZT00A-029530 Colour: Green Mileage: 26380 Capacity: 1015cc Starting at: £999.99 Stock No: 91488 This big old 1978 Kawasaki Z1000A or KZ1000 as it was known in USA has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........ As you can see this bike has few parts missing, though the front indicators are absent, and the front master cylinder, with it's broken mirror mount, is off a later machine. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS......... The wheels are straight with nice clean chrome rims, good discs, calipers and working brakes, but some of the rear spokes are a bit rusty. The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome. The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl. The clocks are tidy looking and switches look fine and everything that should move does so. The carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. The paintwork is slightly faded but solid, fuel tank is squeaky clean inside. The seat base is in solid condition, but needs threads sorting. The rear indicators are tidy. The chain guard is tidy. Both mud guards are bright and solid. The 4 into 1 exhaust is bright and solid. The engine is cosmetically clean, and cranks over nicely off the kick start. We have had it firing/running & revving on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention. If you are ready for a new project and have been looking for a classic Kawasaki Z1000A to restore then look no further – THIS ONE COULD BE YOURS!!! The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated. We HAVE NOT got the Certificate of Title but we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.(This can take upto 4 weeks) You need to get the bike MOTed. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number.
