1985 Top Gun GPZ 900 R32000 milesMot until Feb 2022Gorgeous bike...I bought this GPZ from long term ownership in February from a guy who due to ill health could no longer ride the bike.I would have described it as an honest bike when I bought it that needed some TLC to bring her back to life.I decided to build a Top Gun replica as it was a 1985 model ..the same as the one as Tom Cruise’s character Pete “ Maverick “ Mitchell rode in the movie.I removed all the plastics and set about thoroughly cleaning the bike.I had the wheels powder coated and bearings replaced.New sprockets ..new battery...loads of ancillaries.Had the plastics made bespoke to the movie colour scheme and sourced authentic decals from the USA to make this replica movie accurate.Just had the bike serviced ...had the carbs ultrasonic cleaned and rebuilt using genuine Kawasaki parts.Gpz900r’s were notorious for running hot from new...for piece of mind I have had the entire cooling system renewed...radiator ..hoses...thermostat...rad cap..waterless coolant..the bike now runs lovely with lots of power ( for 1985 )Original plastics still with the bikeLovely bike that causes a lot of interest
