1966 BSA A65T 650 Thunderbolt Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Project Manufacturer: BSA Model: A65T 650 Thunderbolt Year: 1966 Engine No: A65T9016 Frame No: A65T9016 Colour: Blue Mileage: 5870 Capacity: 654cc Starting at: £999.99 Stock No: 91641 This big old 1966 BSA A65T Thunderbolt 650 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........ As you can see this bike has a few parts missing, such as the side panels. There are no handlebar switches, but as there no indicators maybe there never was....Who knows for sure? We don't. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS......... The wheels are straight with chrome rims with some minor pitting, but the brakes work. The forks and yokes look straight. The tail light assy is good, and the headlight looks okay but the rim is pitted and has a few marks. The speedo looks okay. The carburettor is free sliding off the twist grip. The paintwork is dull but solid, fuel tank is clean inside. The seat base is in good solid condition throughout. The chain guard is tidy. Both mud guards are solid. The exhaust is solid. The engine is cosmetically clean, and cranks over nicely of the kick start. We have had it firing/running & revving on easystart spray but the fuel system & carb will need attention. If you are ready for a new project and have been looking for a classic British Twin to restore then look no further – THIS ONE COULD BE YOURS!!! The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated. We HAVE NOT got the Certificate of Title but we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.(This can take upto 4 weeks) Registration. You need to get the bike MOTed. (Vehicles over 40 years old are MOT exempt) You need proof of year of manufacture in writing. We suggest contacting North Liecester Motorcycles who have been very helpful. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number. Spares you may need Our used spares dept may carry items you need for this project. Any parts available will be offered for sale on eBay.
