Description

I will start off by saying some one is going to get a very very good bike for not a whole hell of a lot of money!!when these bikes first came out.....i wanted one!!.....but not a hope of affording one and so i just watched and lusted after them from afar,i have been riding and renovating bikes for 40yrs plus now and so when i saw this bike come up for auction on a insurance salvage site in my favorite colour ......with very low miles on the clock..under 8000 at the time with only low speed plastic damage.......i made my move!!...i bought it got it home and took it apart....this was to be my dream machine and i knew i could improve on the standard finish of it..[i repair/repaint car body work as part of my living]firstly the frame was repainted in 2pack base coat and laquer in a far better colour than the std silver, the swing arm was removed..as std it has a rough cast dimpled effect...didnt like that so spent god knows how many hours wet and drying them out to leave a silky smooth finish, all roller bearings in the linkage and swing arm replaced as a matter of course as were the head stock bearings, fork oil changed....legs painted,i had the wheels powder coated, bought brand new front discs and pads and fitted them along with braided hoses, levers replaced with pazzo classy items,i had the seat recovered.....again just a better finish than the std shiny pvc,as you will know these bikes sound amazing......especially with a Triumph high rise race can on it.....it looks gorgeous too!!goes with out saying all filters air...oil...fuel...and spark plugs replaced,....new chain and sprockets too!!...the side panel and front fairing that needed replacing i did myself...painting and using genuine graphics.....all this took me 6 long years....finally got it tested and on the rd in 2015....since then i have only done aprox 500m on it,sadly i have found at my age now [nr 60]...and arthritus in my hands it is painful for me to ride!!.......i have always had many other bikes..a collection of nearly 20 up to last year!!.....but time and tide as the saying goes waits for no man...and the better half saying i would be dead before getting all my projects done...harsh but fair!!!!......has meant a mass bike clear out...i am now down to 5....and realistically that needs to be 2....and so the beloved but hardly ridden Daytona has to go!!......it is one that genuinely pains me......but not as much as it pains me to ride it sadly.....it has been stood for 3yrs in my garage now, stared regularly....and just fitted a new Yuasa battery....but it has to go...i did take it up the rd a few weeks ago....made me smile but the decision has been made.........................and so in a nut shell......beautiful bike.....best looking model,,,best colour...low miles....but will need a "re commision"...ie...oil filter...poss coolant /brake fluid change and get it tested.............i do have an old std pipe some where for the mot ...any inspection welcome or phone for a chat......thanks for looking.....contact Andrew 07748880307...cash on collection please or transfer
