1984 Honda VF700C Magna Unregistered US Import Barn Find Restoration Project Manufacturer: Honda Model: VF700C Magna Year: 1984 Engine No: RC21E-2000894 Frame No: JH2RC2103EM000865 Colour: Black Mileage: 28490 Capacity: 698 Starting at: £999.99 Stock No: 92034 This well respected 1984 VF700C Magna V-4 shaft drive factory custom cruiser has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........ As you can see this bike has few parts missing - right hand side panel being most obvious. It has to said that underneath this awful paint is hiding something that actually isn't too bad at all. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS......... The wheels are straight with clean alloy but the misguided chrome finish has bubbled. The discs and calipers are good and the brakes work. The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome. The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl. The clocks look okay. The switches are a bit faded but everything that should move does so. The carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. The fuel tank has no significant dents and is squeaky clean inside. The seat bases seem okay, but the covers are a bit brittle and cracked. The indicators are tidy. Both mud guards are bright and solid. The standard down pipe assembly is solid, and the turnout silencers are solid. The engine is cosmetically clean. We have had it firing/running & revving on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention. If you are ready for a new project and have been looking for a classic Honda Magna to restore then look no further – THIS ONE COULD BE YOURS!!! The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated. We HAVE NOT got the Certificate of Title but we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.(This can take upto 4 weeks) Registration. You need to get the bike MOTed. (Vehicles over 40 years old are MOT exempt) You need proof of year of manufacture in writing. To get a recognised dating letter apply in writing to Honda Motorcycle Operations at the following address. Year of Manufacture, Honda (UK),Cain Road, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 1HLThe following information for the bike should quoted, Model, VIN, Engine number. Additionally you should include your contact details (telephone number and email). There is administration fee of £30 (25 + VAT) which can be paid by cheque or postal order payable to Honda (UK). If information needs to be acquired from Japan the the "Proof of year of manufacture" letter can take upto 6 weeks to arrive. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number. Spares you may need Our used spares dept may carry items you need for this project. Any parts available will be offered for sale on eBay.
