Yamaha YP400 Majesty for sale - SPARES OR REPAIR. Riding the bike home on Friday and lost drive. Suspected the drive belt broke so got the bike taken to the local Yamaha dealer for new belt and service but they got back to me that the work will cost over £1,100 pounds as belt and rollers damaged. I cannot afford to invest more money in the bike so time to sell on to someone that can do the work themselves or want to spend the money. Dealer told me the drive belt cut through the rollers, some screws and bolts need replacing and a full service required - hence the big bill. Also, when the AA were loading up the bike to take to the dealer I noticed the tyres need replaced as perished side walls. I got a quote for £160 for a pair of Michelin Pilots so you should add that on to the list. The good bits, the exhaust was changed out 6 months ago for a stainless steel Mivvi unit. A couple of months ago I got it through the ULEZ test and the bike is registered ULEZ compliant with TfL (cost over £400 (not including the hundreds for the new exhaust and fitting) for new cat convertor welded into exhaust and to get tested). You can confirm ULEZ compliant by checking number plate on TfL site. At last mot, passed with no advisories. I've had the bike since May last year, up until last Friday it never missed a beat. The previous owner told me it had been serviced but when the AA guy took off the side cover at the roadside it was obvious it has not been serviced for a while. Saying that, even with dirty filters it pulled really well (I'm no lightweight). Sad to lose my bike but it can be a good commuter for someone. The bike is currently at the Twickenham Yamaha dealership and will need to be collected from there during shop hours. The fairing etc has been removed so they could check what is required and there is no point in me paying them to put it all back on just for the new owner to remove everything again. PLEASE REMEMBER, THIS BIKE IS FOR SPARES OR REPAIR AND WILL NEED A VAN OR TRAILER AT COLLECTION FROM YAMAHA DEALER AT TWICKENHAM. Thanks.
