MZ RT125/3 from 1961. I bought this is 2012 as a complete wreck and spent a number of months getting it back together. I have tried to retain the original patina and as many of the original parts as possible. Engine is good but I did fit new piston rings whilst it was apart. Cycle parts have been cleaned, the rust treated, and each sprayed with clear lacquer. Tank has been cleaned and sealed internally. The electrics have been sorted out and some new (old) parts fitted for the rather strange electrical box that has the coil, regulator, and switch gear inside. New tyres, and some rubber parts such a grips and foot rests. Haven't ridden it for a least 12 months, but was all fine on its last outing.Battery (6 Volt) is gone so have not started recently, so selling as a non runner. Would think a new battery, some petrol, clean the plug and points, and it will go. Only issues I know of are a slow puncture in rear tyre, the rubber chain guards could do with replacing, and rear light not original (although you can get the correct one new). Front down tube has been repaired at some time in the past but straight and rides fine. Tax and MOT exempt. I had it registered in 2018 on an age related plate. V5 is in my name. Have confirmation of age and model from MZ Owners Club. Not sure this model was ever imported to the UK so is rare here, although common in Germany and all parts are readily available. This bike is 60 years old and the patina shows its age so do not expect shiny paint and chrome. I urge you to come and view if you are interested. Have acquired yet another bike, and a sidecar combination, and the garage is now like one of those puzzles where you have to move the pieces round to get to the one you want.
