Description

A very very clean and well sorted ‘bluey’ TTR up for grabs. I bought this at the start of lockdown with a view to get my wife into trail riding. However I’ve been given the green light to get a 690 so my wife’s keeping my CRF and the TTR is up for grabs. As we weren’t able to get out and ride I went through the bike from front to back to ensure everything is top tip. I’ve spent well over £300 with Yamaha and Totally TTRs making the bike right (receipts to back this up). She’s covered about 1,000 miles in the past 5 years and wasn’t running properly - due to gunk in the carb. The carb has been fully cleaned with the jets, float valve, diaphragm, gaskets and o rings replaced. The fuel tap had seen better days so this was replaced with a new one. I stripped the linkage down to grease the bearings but they’d seen better days so I replaced all the bearings including the swing arm bearings. While I was there I replaced the lower frame guard and chain slider. The rear wheel was notchy so I replaced all three bearings. I stripped and checked the headstock bearings but they were perfect so I just cleaned and re greased them. I’ve changed oil, filter, fuel filter, spark plug and checked the valves (in spec’). Fork stanchions are perfect as are the fork oil seals. Both tyres are new as are the pads front and rear. Chain and sprockets both recent. I’ve owned a couple of TTRs but the ‘bluey’ with kick and electric is the one to go for. This engine is very quiet and runs like a sewing machine. If you’re looking for one of these you’ll most probably have heard the sprag clutch is a weak point. If the bike clunks when switching off it’s on it’s way out and can be very costly (I had one go on an open enduro years ago), this bike has no such issue and is silent when switching off. There are some nice additions to the bike such as bash plate, works connection frame guards, case saver and foam air filter. Both keys and owners manual present as are previous MOTs to verify the mileage. It is a 16 year old dirt bike so there are marks and signs of use but it’s a very clean & original bike that’s absolutely ready to go. One I’d be more than happy to head off On the TET tomorrow on. 6 speed wide ratio box makes them ideal for riding to the trail head and low weight / seat height is confidence inspiring. Happy to discuss the bike or send a WhatsApp video of it running / turning off. Please don’t bid if you have no intention of following through with the sale. I will require a deposit within 24 hours of the sale finishing. On 10-Jun-20 at 17:45:00 BST, seller added the following information: I've had a question regarding the seat. The previous owner swapped the original seat foam for one from a KTM to lower the height slightly. I've now put this back to standard and recovered the seat. The 'low' foam will be included in the sale should the winning bidder want it. Happy to answer any further questions on 07545 062455.
