1964 Triumph Tiger Cub 200cc pre-65 trials bike with V5C Here is a tidy little Tiger Cub trials project, up and running and rideable with V5C but not yet finished off & ready to trial! The bike starts OK, still on points with a small gel battery secreted behind the side panels. The engine sounds crisp enough and the bike rides well and is very lively. I would say gearing is low but not quite as low as you would expect for a competitive trials machine. Brakes are OK. Gears and clutch good although there is a bit of a rattle coming from the clutch it seems. There are also a couple of irritating oil leaks, I think from the overhead rocker feed assembly which looks to be in poor condition. I have run the bike with an ammeter in line and it is charging OK. There is no speedo fitted. The ally tank and tubular oil tank fitted underneath it are believed to be Sammy Miller after- market parts as possibly are the very nice alloy fork yolks. The bike has an up to date V5C doc and is registered as Historic Class, therefore road tax is free and it is MOT exempt. Registration is YHH 429B, frame number is T98023, engine number is T20 67691. These numbers match the V5C. Cosmetically the bike is in pretty good condition. The enamel on the frame is very good. The alloy tank is nice, wheels & spokes are as new. Tyres are as new Pirelli Trials. There is a small chip on top fin of cylinder head to rear of spark plug. There is no fin damage on the cylinder barrel. Exhaust pipe is sound but dull chrome. Nice little stainless silencer fitted. Bum-pad seat is in good condition. Excellent side-stand fitted. And a useful sump guard! This little cub trialer is in need of some finishing and fettling to make trials ready but it is not far off . With the big money cosmetic items already done it is down to someone with Tiger Cub fettling skills to finish this project off and make good for pre-65 events. Don’t miss this attractive little Cub!
