1972 Suzuki T250J Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Project Manufacturer: Suzuki Model: T250J Year: 1972 Engine No: T250-49670 Frame No: T250-49596 Colour: Red Mileage: 13469 Capacity: 247cc Starting at: £999.99 Stock No: 88215 This very rare and much sought after Tax & MOT exempt 1972 Suzuki T250J has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life. We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you can see this bike has got a few bits missing, a few bits damaged/broken, a few bits rusty/corroded & a few bits are very nice indeed. The wheels are essentially straight with some rust in the chrome rims, good hubs & brake plates. Forks & yokes look straight but again have minor rust on the chrome. Mudguards are both solid. Instruments look faded but complete. Exhausts are original & solid. Seat base is in good condition throughout. Chain guard is tidy. The engine is cosmetically quite clean but sadly is seized, hopefully it will be through standing around forever but we have not inspected the engine internally so we have no idea why/how it has seized. We HAVE NOT got the Certificate of Title and we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.(This can take upto 4 weeks) Registration. You need to get the bike MOTed. (Vehicles over 40 years old are MOT exempt) You need proof of year of manufacture in writing. Suzuki UK also offer this service but apparently do not have records for anything older than 40 years old. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration plus the current amount for the road tax. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number. Spares you may need Our used spares dept may carry items you need for this project, give them a call on 01782 862200, if parts are available they will be happy to list them on EBay so you can purchase.
